Historical / Listed

Historic and architecturally sensitive buildings call for particular attention to detail and often require innovative solutions.

The volume of the spaces concerned and the methods of construction require special consideration, particularly if current standards for environmental conditions are to be achieved. The fact that the buildings themselves were not constructed to house modern services equipment is in itself a challenge. Services Design Associates work closely with the Client, the Architect and conservation advisers, such as English Heritage, in order to select the most appropriate solutions for each project.

SDA have a wide range of experience in this field including churches, historic houses and listed buildings of varying ages. SDA were appointed as approved church floodlighting designers to the Church Floodlighting Trust assisted by the Millennium Commission.
